LAS VEGAS (AP) — At NFL Honors on Thursday night, Cam Heyward, a defensive lineman for the Pittsburgh Steelers, was named the NFL’s Walter Payton Man of the Year.
Heyward was introduced by Prince Harry.
“Prince freakin’ Harry,” exclaimed a startled Heyward.
The Steelers had nominated Heyward for the honor six times. He established the Heyward House Foundation, which provides funding for various Pittsburgh-area projects.
Heyward remarked, “I want to thank the Pittsburgh Steelers for giving me this opportunity.” “It’s an honor to be mentored by you, Mike T. Tomlin. I was unable to compete for any other coach. I’m grateful to be your colleague, teammates.
