Tennessee Vols are promoting their new signings in an intriguing manner……

On Wednesday, the University of Tennessee football team unveiled its newest recruits for the 2024 class. Boo Carter,

Jordan Ross, and Mike Matthews are among the new impact players who will be joining the Tennessee Volunteers in

Knoxville and have the chance to have an instant effect. Some, such quarterback Jake Merklinger, quarterback

Matthews, and tight end Carter, are already in town helping the squad get ready for the bowl.

But hiring isn’t over yet. Not at all. Additionally, Tennessee is promoting the program nationwide with the help of its

most recent additions.

The university made the announcement last week that it will be placing billboards in the locations where its recruits

have left. The billboards are expected to remain up until December 26. Billboards are located in Knoxville on I-40,

two locations in Nashville off I-63, Cleveland, Chattanooga, and Memphis for in-state recruits.

Regarding out-of-state advertising, Tennessee is putting up billboards from Texas up to Virginia and Ohio. OL Max

Anderson is being honored by Tennessee with a billboard located in Frisco off of I-35 eastbound. Additionally, OL

William Satterwhite has a billboard up in Akron, Ohio, while RB Peyton Lewis has one in Roanoke, Virginia.

It’s a wise choice to put up billboards. It’s merely a thank you note from the school that might be seen by potential

recruits. It once more makes Tennessee’s name visible to potential recruiters. It’s virtually always advantageous to be

seen.

It also responds to a query that was posed after Tennessee placed a billboard in Columbia, South Carolina, for wide

receiver Braylon Staley.

At first, it seemed as though Tennessee was making fun of the South Carolina Gamecocks. During the season, a local

bar displayed a billboard imploring Staley to sign with the in-state Gamecocks on its marquee. It turned out, though,

that it was only one of several Tennessee billboards across the nation advertising their new signees.

Though I doubt Tennessee is the only team doing it, the Vols are still looking excellent. And once more, further

visibility and press? Indeed, why not.
